Returning Roosevelt families are likely aware of congestion and traffic concerns during drop-off and dismissal times. Our top priority remains student safety. To address these concerns, we have collaborated with District Safety and Security, the Scottsbluff Police Department, and the City of Scottsbluff to implement a new process aimed at enhancing safety for all students.
Please refer to the map below, which illustrates the recent changes. Between 7:00 a.m. and 8:15 a.m., as well as from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., traffic will be permitted to flow only NORTHBOUND on 9th Avenue from Overland to 14th Street. There will be no parking on 9th Avenue during this time, and southbound traffic will be prohibited.
Families are asked to say goodbye to students from their vehicles and have students enter the school through the front entrance. Vehicles will then need to turn right or continue traveling straight at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 14th Street to exit the area.
Please note that buses will be stationed on 8th Avenue, so families should ensure sufficient space for buses to park along the curb. The 8th Avenue gate will be open as it has in the past for families that prefer that drop-off location for their students.
Families may choose to use either 9th Avenue or 8th Avenue for drop-offs and pickups.
